Job summary

Oklahoma State University (OSU) Stillwater is seeking staff to feed and care for university and client-owned animals, and to perform general maintenance of facilities and equipment.

The role requires hands-on manual labor, experience with farming practices, and skills in welding, carpentry and mechanical maintenance. A valid driver6 license is required, with lifting up to 50 pounds as routine.

Qualifications

• Requires High School/GED; degree conferred by start date.
• Three years of work experience or two years post-secondary education plus one year related work experience.
• Must have valid driver1s license. Must be able to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Experience in farming practices, equipment operations, equipment repair, and basic research in agricultural, horticulture or natural resources management.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years related work experience. Two years of college or technical training

Working Conditions

• Inherent physical danger when working in livestock (farm) setting. Majority of duties are performed out-of-doors; conditions are typical of livestock (farm) operations. Must be familiar with the handling of stallions.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Must have experience in equine husbandry, welding, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance.
