Job summary

Metro Water Recovery in Denver, CO is seeking an entry-level Farm Operations Assistant to join a team that supports daily farming activities. You will learn operation of agricultural equipment, perform routine maintenance, and assist with seasonal tasks under close supervision.

You will report to the Farm Administrator and help with grounds maintenance, equipment upkeep, and safety practices in an outdoor production setting typical of a biosolids-related agricultural environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver’s license and certification to operate vehicles/equipment.
• Basic farm safety practices and safe work procedures expected.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor associated with farming operations under close supervision.
• Assist with fence repair, mowing, weed control, snow removal, and grounds maintenance.
• Clean and service farm equipment and facilities.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials.
• Assist with planting, harvest, grain handling, and other seasonal operations.
• Operate pickups, utility vehicles, ATVs, and mowers under supervision.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and organization.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Description

Performs entry-level farm operations and maintenance work under close supervision. Assists with routine maintenance, facility upkeep, seasonal agricultural operations, and grounds maintenance. Learns the operation of agricultural equipment and develops skills in farm operations and maintenance while supporting daily farming activities. Report to Farm Administrator.

Examples of Duties

1. Performs manual labor associated with farming operations.

Education

Graduation from high school or GED and a valid driver’s license and certification required to operate vehicles and equipment are required.
