Job summary

Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA in Concord, NC is seeking a part-time Farm Maintenance staff member. Responsibilities include grounds care, weed control, trash removal, mowing, and pressure washing. Must pass YMCA background checks and obtain CPR/AED and First Aid within 30 days. Outdoor work with lifting up to 30 lbs is required.

Excellent customer service and effective communication with members and staff are essential. This role is non-exempt and part-time, with pay in the $11.00–$14.00/hour range.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Weed control including weed spraying and weed eating.

General Function:

The Farm Maintenance position is a key role at the YMCA. Farm Maintenance staff members are responsible for maintaining the facility grounds to a standard of excellence for the Rowan-Cabarrus YMCA that our members and community can be proud to be a part of. It is expected that staff can work independently on tasks and when completed or other issues/items arise, staff are able to transition with ease.

Know How:

Incumbent must be service oriented and communicate effectively with members and staff. He/she must pass YMCA background checks and successfully complete and maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to acquire them within 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the following, but is not limited to: w alking, standing, kneeling, climbing, crouching, jumping, heavy lifting 30 lbs., pushing 30 lbs., carrying 30 lbs., and vision. Must be able to work outdoors on occasion.
