Responsibilities

  • Maintain and fabricate farm equipment and perform overall facility maintenance to produce high quality trout products for customers.
  • Repair hydraulic systems, including motors, pumps, pressure switches, valves and fittings.
  • Work with pneumatic systems and interpret schematics.
  • Operate welding equipment including oxy-acetylene, stick and TIG welding as needed.
  • Basic electrical understanding for 110V and 230V systems.
  • Perform routine lubrication and greasing using greasing systems.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Conduct sanitation tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with loading fish and transporting to processing plant.

Description
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Maintenance Director
Summary/Objective
  • Provide maintenance expertise within the farm services operations group working as a team member to ensure the farms are operating at a high level of efficiency utilizing mechanical support skills to construct and support farm equipment. This person must have the demonstrated ability to supervise and lead while at the same time function as a member of the team.
Essential Functions

Ability to maintain and fabricate farm equipment and perform overall facility maintenance to produce high quality trout products for customers:

  • Hydraulic Systems: To include, but not be limited to, hydraulic motors as well as pumps, pressure switches, directional flow control valves, check valves, hydraulic Mani folding, as well as piping and hydraulic fittings.
  • Pneumatics: To include but not be limited to, cylinders, air motors, control valuing and pip-ing, and an ability to interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Welding Skills: To include, but not be limited to, the use of an oxy-acetylene cutting torch, oxy-acetylene welding, stick welding on mild steel as well as stainless steel, and tig (helli arc) welding of aluminum and stainless steel. Tig welding a plus.
  • Electrical: A basic understanding of electricity in both single phase and three phase power for 110V and 230V.
  • Industrial Shop Tools: To include but not be limited to, the use of grinders and cutoff saws, band saws, drill presses, hydraulic presses, and pipe threading equipment, table saws.
  • Experience: Previous work experience with most power tools which are supplied by the com-pany and experience with hand tools which may or may not be supplied by the company.
  • Basic Vehicle Maintenance which can include small repairs and basic troubleshooting.
  • Basic Carpentry skills.
  • Basic fabrication skills – building graders and screens, welding, etc.
  • Solid understanding of automated feed systems along with troubleshooting and repairing.
  • Greasing, to include but not limited to the use of hand grease guns as well as pump and canis-ter type greasing systems.
  • Lubrication, to include but not limited to, gear box lubrication and chain lubrication.
  • Assure safety and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Ability to perform sanitation tasks as assigned.
  • Grading fish for market and around the facility.
  • Loading fish to be delivered to the processing plant.
  • Delivering fish to the plant – (Class B CDL required in reasonable amount of time)
  • Participate in some discussion about confidential/sensitive matters.
  • Communicate with employees and others through written, oral, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Assist other team members in completion of work.
  • Ability to work flexible work schedules with varying hours as required.
  • Miscellaneous Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

The worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions is not provided and worker is subject to temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise. The worker can be subject to cold and wet conditions.

Physical Demands

This job involves Heavy Work exerting force occasionally and frequently to most objects. The job involves heavy lifting occasionally.

The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows:

  • Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.
  • Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Occasionally requires stooping and reaching.
  • Occasionally requires pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force.
  • Occasionally requires pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting is required on an occasional basis.
  • Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, tem-perature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Repetitive Motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-Time Position: Work 5 days a week, week days and some weekends as required

Expected Hours: 8 Hours a day start time will vary as needed.
