Job summary

The Farm Service Agency in Nebraska seeks a Farm Loan Officer to assist the Farm Loan Manager in administering farm loan programs within a USDA Service Center serving several counties. Successful applicants will complete all requirements of the Farm Loan Training Program and may be reassigned during training.

Qualifications include GS-5/7/9 level criteria with education in finance/economics or agriculture, and experience in loan examination or servicing.

Qualifications

• Gathers and analyzes facts and figures, and presents conclusions clearly (oral and written).
• Knowledge of financial analysis principles and insurance-like regulations as applicable to the loan context.
• Experience with reviewing and servicing agricultural loans or related credit work.

Responsibilities

• Assist Farm Loan Manager in administering farm loan programs.
• Complete all Farm Loan Training Program requirements during the assignment.
• May be reassigned to a different training office during the training period.
