Farm Equipment Operator (2464)

Farm Equipment Operator position available on a 10,000-acre family farm in Northwest Kansas. The farm primarily grows dryland wheat, corn, and grain sorghum, with one central pivot irrigation system. The operation utilizes the latest John Deere equipment and features a well-organized, heated shop to enhance efficiency. The owners are seeking individuals who love farming and are self-motivated. The farm also manages 300 to 400 head of steers on grass from March to August. The owners value their employees and have a history of low employee turnover. Salary is based on experience. Housing, utilities, and insurance are provided. The position includes two weeks of paid time off per year.

Responsibilities
  • Operate the latest John Deere technologies, including GPS, yield monitoring, field mapping, sprayer, and fertilizer application.
Qualifications
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL and a private applicators license.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of cattle is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of GPS and guidance systems.
  • Some light mechanic skills.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
Experience Requirements
  • Two years of experience operating and maintaining modern farm equipment, including semi-trucks, sprayers, planters, combines, and drills, is preferred. Training will be provided for the right candidate with less experience.
