Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Are you ready to embrace the outdoors? The Plains Conservation Center seeks a dedicated individual to care for farm animals such as sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, donkeys, and alpacas, ensuring they are fed, watered, and their habitats maintained. You will also care for vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens, perform watering, weeding, harvesting, and maintain irrigation systems, as well as care for trees through watering, weeding, and mulching. Weekend availability is required. This role supports the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Department's mission to connect with the community and enhance Aurora's quality of life.

This position is VHBE (Variable Hour Benefit Eligible), working an average of 40 hours per week with benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and holidays.

Compensation

The hiring rate is $18.00/hour.

Minimum Qualifications & Working Conditions

Qualifications can include an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. No specific education or experience is required, but preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, manual labor experience, and knowledge of safety practices.
