Stockbridge-Munsee Community seeks a Front Desk Clerk to handle member check-ins, registrations, and daily front desk operations. You will deliver friendly service, manage inquiries, and support administrative tasks to ensure a welcoming recreation center experience.
Responsibilities include processing registrations, handling transactions, maintaining records, and coordinating monthly calendars for programs in collaboration with staff.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as the first point of contact for members and visitors by providing excellent customer service and accurate information about facility programs and services. Responsible for managing front desk operations, including member check-in and program registration. Maintains a welcoming, organized, and safe environment while enforcing facility policies. Supports daily administrative functions and assists in promoting recreation center activities to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
All employees of Stockbridge Munsee Community must meet the following qualification:
1.Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and health screening.
2.Must be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated on job description
3.Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record
4.Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays.
DUTIES:
1. Greet and assist all visitors, members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
2. Provide information about programs, schedules, memberships, and facility policies
3. Check members in and verify memberships or daily passes
4. Process registrations for classes, events, and recreational programs
5. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain accurate receipts and records
6. Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries; direct questions to appropriate staff when needed
7. Maintain front desk organization, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment
8. Monitor facility access and ensure adherence to safety and security procedures
9. Address customer concerns, questions, or complaints in a courteous and timely manner
10. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation
11. Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports as required
12. Create monthly newsletter
13. Create monthly calendars for recreation, fitness, aquatics, and youth education programs in collaboration with staff to ensure accurate scheduling, coordination of activities, and alignment with program goals.
14. Support staff with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and scheduling
15. Coordinate and manage building and equipment rental requests, including scheduling, confirming availability, processing reservations, and ensuring proper use and return of facilities and equipment.
16. Maintain employee schedules of events.
17. Promote recreation center programs, events, and services to the community.
18. Enforce facility rules and policies to ensure a safe environment for all patrons
19. Required to attend job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
20. Must adhere to tribal law and other applicable laws as well as tribal personnel policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
2. Must have two years working experience in a clerical position.
3. Must possess above average typing and spelling skills, computer experience required.
4. Must be able to operate office equipment (copier, fax machine, transcriber, etc) necessary for the position.
5. Must be able to demonstrate appropriate telephone answering skill.
6. Must be able to present a positive and friendly image while maintaining professionalism.
7. Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
8. Must be able to organize and maintain all assigned duties.
9. Must pass pre-employment drug and health screening.Must adhere to the Tribe’s Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
10. Must be able to meet physical requirements of position
11. Must abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.
12. Must be eligible for coverage under the employer’s liability insurance.
13. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required.Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license within 30 days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license.Must meet and maintain the eligibility to operate a personal or tribal vehicle under the driver acceptability guidelines as established by Mohican Nation Insurance.
14. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
