Job summary

Children & Families of Iowa is seeking a Family Support Worker to help families navigate trauma and life challenges, provide transportation, supervise interactions, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote safety and stability. You will document cases and coordinate meetings to ensure timely support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of experience in human services with children and/or dependent adults preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for families and children as needed.
  • Facilitate and supervise family interactions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings between families and FCS team members.
  • Complete accurate and timely case documentation.
  • Collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting and strengthening families.

In this role, you’ll support families experiencing trauma or life challenges by providing guidance, transportation, and supervised family interactions. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Family Support Worker, you will:

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in human services working with children and/or dependent adults
Preferred qualifications, but not required:
  • Associate degree with at least six months of relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable internet access or ability to work from an office location
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Auto insurance with liability coverage and a safe driving record
