Job summary

Children & Families of Iowa is seeking a Family Support Worker to help families navigate challenging circumstances by providing transportation, supervision of family interactions, and crisis support to promote stability and healing.

You will collaborate with parents, children, foster families and professionals to keep families safe, supported and connected. Strong communication and reliable transportation are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in human services with children or dependent adults.
• Preferred: Associate degree with six months+ experience or a Bachelor's in human services or related field.
• Ability to work independently, respond to emergencies, meet deadlines, and have reliable internet access.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for families and children as needed.
• Facilitate and supervise family interactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and support services.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings between families and FCS team members.
• Complete accurate and timely case documentation.
• Collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting and strengthening families.

In this role, you’ll support families experiencing trauma or life challenges by providing guidance, transportation, and supervised family interactions. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of experience in human services working with children and/or dependent adults
