Job summary

Cornerstones of Care is seeking a Family Support Specialist to help strengthen relationships and reunify families. You will partner with Foster Care Case Managers and provide support services to parents and families, using social work and educational methods, including individual or group family support and supervised visitation.

You will work with a team and report to the Director of Kansas Foster Care, participating in short and long‑term interventions to empower children and families across

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years’ experience working with children and families.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass background check, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support during family time, appointments, transitions, and emergencies.
• Supervise family time in office, home, or community settings.
• Coach parents during interactions to build skills and growth opportunities.
• Model safe, nurturing interactions for parents during supervised visits.
• Assist staff with placing children in hospitals or placements when supervision is needed.
• Work with families on case plan goals and court orders.
