Job summary

The Salvation Army Odessa Store in Odessa, TX is seeking a dedicated supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of a small Family Store with a limited staff.

You will ensure accurate pricing and presentation of donated items, supervise volunteers, and maintain store records while upholding policies and delivering friendly customer service. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years supervisory experience in a retail store environment.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

This position is responsible for:

Plans, administers, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day operations of a small Family Store with a limited staff ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; processes, displays, and prices donated items to ensure a maximum financial return on the sale of store items; assists customers in a polite and friendly manner; prepares store displays that are attractive, neat, and orderly; rotates and re-stocks store merchandise to ensure quick turnover; ensures the accountability and security of all store items and funds; serves as a supervisor and/or lead worker to volunteers and/or subordinate store personnel

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares, processes, and maintains various sales records, tax forms and social service vouchers; prepares routine sales reports as directed.
• Assists with sorting and pricing items and driving the forklift as needed.
• Acts as back to Truck Driver during vacancies and absences.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Knowledge of effective and efficient methods for organizing and maintaining records and ability to perform the same.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of retail store management.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of effective customer relations.
• Ability to evaluate overall store operations to detect deficiencies and implement appropriate corrective action.
• Ability to price donated merchandise reasonably and fairly.
• Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army
