Full Time: 33 hours/week, Monday through Thursday 7:45am to 5:15pm

Salary: $20 - $25/hr

As a Dental Assistant, you will provide chair-side assistance to the dentist and care and comfort to the patient, including:

  1. Assisting the dentist in practicing two- or four-handed dentistry (based on dentist preference), including delivering and retrieving instruments, providing suction and retraction, taking x-rays, keeping the dentist informed of appointment timing, and providing other assistance as required during the appointment.
  2. Reviewing and confirming medical history and current medications with the patient, communicating any changes to the dentist, ensuring relevant records and x-rays are available, and performing triage for the dentist.
  3. Interacting effectively with patients: greeting, escorting to the operatory, preparing for the appointment, providing aftercare instructions, facilitating referrals, and scheduling future appointments.
  4. Preparing, maintaining, and breaking down the operatory according to protocol, including stocking, cleaning, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining the workspace.
  5. Interacting with lab personnel and performing lab functions as needed, including entering lab cases and ensuring lab work is ready.
  6. Communicating effectively with front desk personnel regarding appointment progress, scheduling, paperwork, supplies, and other practice-related matters.
