Job summary

Spectrum Child and Family Services in Flint, MI seeks a Family Skills Worker to deliver intensive, concrete services to children and families enrolled in the Family Skills Program. Under the general direction of the Program Director, you will coordinate service delivery per State of Michigan standards to strengthen families and help them function effectively in the community.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in the human services field, i.e. Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Family ecology, consumer/community services, family and/or child development, Guidance and Counseling or Criminal Justice.
  • Experience: One year of directly related service area of parenting, child development or prevention services
  • Knowledge: strengths-based family work, solution focused treatment, wrap around process, child development, child welfare laws, community resources. Training in Bavolek Nurturing Parent Model preferred.
  • Transportation: Reliable and ongoing as required to make home visits and provide transportation to youth and families, valid un-restricted driver's license, good driving record, proof of vehicle insurance coverage on vehicle used for transporting youth and families
  • Other: State of Michigan Licensing Requirements: Satisfactory DHS Central Registry Clearance, ICHAT, National and State Sex Offender Registry check and State Police Record Check, negative TB Test, satisfactory physical exam.

Spectrum Child and Family Services supports our community’s children and teens that are delinquent, have been neglected/abused or abandoned; are medically fragile, multiple handicapped, dual diagnosed, and behaviorally and/or emotionally impaired.
