Job summary

The Shenandoah Valley Social Services seeks a Family Services Specialist III, Prevention, to work with high-risk families in Augusta County and Staunton/Waynesboro. You will conduct home visits, assess safety needs, and coordinate services to ensure child safety and permanency in the community.

Responsibilities include developing service plans, attending court hearings, documenting interactions, and collaborating with community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or equivalent with two years of related experience in human services.
• Possession of a BSW or MSW is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of social work principles and laws relating to human services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits and assess safety risks and service needs.
• Coordinate Family Partnership Meetings and other service-related meetings.
• Develop and implement service plans for children and caregivers.
• Attend court hearings and testify as needed.
• Collaborate with community agencies to meet family needs.
