JOB STATUS: Full time (40 hours), 12 months per year, Union position

LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Inspire Young Minds and Help Families Build a Bright Future! Create a nurturing environment where children grow, learn, and thrive. As a Family Service Worker, you’ll promote and support parent involvement and education in the Head Start Program.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Facilitate Goal Achievement: Facilitate the development and completion of the families to reach their goals in the Family Partnership Agreements.
Promote the Program: Recruit children and families for the program.
Assess & Develop: Assist the enrolled individuals and families to continue their improvement and growth.

Support Families: Assist families in accessing other community resources and offer opportunities for parent engagement.

Coordinate & Integrate: Assist the families in working through the program services to enhance their effectiveness.

SKILLS TO WOW US:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (bilingual preferred)—you’re great at connecting with others.
• Computer-savvy with solid organizational skills.
• Understanding and respectful of cultural diversity.
• Knowledgeable about child development and eager to apply best practices.
• Problem-solving comes easily, and you handle challenges with grace.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Within 18 months of hire, minimum of a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.

• CPR and First Aid Certification (or the willingness to obtain it).
