Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools is seeking a Family and Community Engagement professional to lead partnerships between families, schools and community partners, coordinating programs that support student learning and well‑being.

The role focuses on training parents to support literacy and technology use, guiding staff on partner engagement, developing sustained programs, and ensuring alignment with district priorities to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Policy Studies, Communications, or related field plus 2 years of related work experience.
Total education/experience of six years may be achieved via degree equivalency.
Experience in a school setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide training to help parents work with their children to improve achievement.
Educate staff and parents on engaging as partners and building ties with families.
Develop and implement ongoing engagement programs with district staff.
Coordinate initiatives with community partners to ensure coherence with engagement efforts.
Support schools to develop productive family–school partnerships.
Review district policies and research best practices in family and student engagement.
Assist in creating an integrated family and schools plan aligned with academic priorities.
