Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund seeks a Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, and conduct activities for clients and their children in the temporary shelter in New York City. You will coordinate programs and act as liaison between the site and community-based recreational resources.

The role requires evenings and weekends as needed, strong interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills, and computer literacy with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Mandated Reporter training (can be done on hire).
• At least 6 months of relevant work experience.
• Evenings and weekends work availability as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between the site and community-based recreational resources.
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate activities for families in the shelter.
• Develop linkages with external recreational programs and facilities.
• Organize trips for clients and their children.
• Plan and organize special facility events.
