Come work as a Primary Care Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! This part-time position is at the new Richmond East Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC), opening in spring/summer 2024.
The UPCC offers urgent care for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, without the need for hospital emergency services. Located in East Richmond, the clinic is accessible by transit and operates 365 days a year, with hours from 0800-2200 Monday to Saturday (including holidays) and 0900-1700 on Sundays.
The clinic provides team-based care with physicians working alongside nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and social workers. On-site diagnostics include X-ray, ECG, slit lamp, point of care ultrasound, and urine testing. Referrals and specialist support are available through Richmond Hospital. Candidates should have experience in splinting, casting, suturing, and minor procedures. Patients will be supported in finding primary care providers if unattached.
The ideal candidate has recent experience in primary care and urgent or emergent care, understanding the importance of foundational primary care. Training in Opioid Agonist Therapy is a plus but not required. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, is necessary.
