Experienced Family Practice Physician needed for a 60-day locum tenens assignment at a Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania. Starting 06/23/2025, this full-time position requires coverage Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The physician will serve as Acting Medical Director, overseeing 2-3 Advanced Practice Providers. Responsibilities include providing infirmary care, managing IV treatments, oxygen administration, and handling general medical cases. The role involves daily infirmary rounds, weekly restricted housing unit rounds, and addressing a variety of medical needs including sutures, splints, and common illnesses. Proficiency in Sapphire EHR is required. This opportunity offers potential for extension beyond the initial contract period.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Serve as Acting Medical Director, overseeing 2-3 APPs
• Provide infirmary care for 14 beds (7 infirmary, 7 observation)
• Conduct daily infirmary rounds and weekly restricted housing unit rounds
• Manage IV treatments, oxygen administration, and monitor patient levels
• Perform sutures, splints, and handle general medical cases
• Treat common illnesses such as colds, coughs, flu, and bronchitis
• Address pain management needs
• Conduct physicals, emergency consults, and admission consults
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records using Sapphire EHR
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and provide compassionate care in a correctional setting
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania
• Experience with Sapphire EHR preferred
• Flexibility for potential assignment extension
