The Physician serves as a healthcare professional capable of handling a variety of health-related problems. The work involves moderately complex to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Physician focuses on outpatient medicine, continuity of care, health maintenance, and disease prevention. Responsibilities include maintaining medical histories and records, referring patients to specialists as needed, and influencing departmental strategy. The role involves making decisions on complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components, often performing work independently with considerable latitude in setting objectives and approaches.

Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients according to standards of care.
- Monitor care quality using data and chart reviews.
- Assist in coordinating patient services.
- Participate actively in team discussions and serve as a key medical resource.
- Support a cooperative practice environment through professionalism and approachability.
- Complete all documentation timely, working with coding specialists to ensure accuracy.
- Adhere to policies and protocols set by Clinical Leadership.
- Discuss quality of care and outcome data with the Regional Medical Director.
- Engage in growth opportunities for new or existing services.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine (preferred)
- Active and unrestricted DEA license
- Medicare Provider Number
- Two to five years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Experience managing Medicare Advantage panels and understanding of best practices in coordinated care
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and coverage
- Understanding of HEDIS quality indicators
