Job description

Texoma Medical Center is hiring a Family Medicine Physician to join our GME Program.

This position reports to the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program and serves as a clinical instructor of Family Medicine. The physician will assist in didactic activities, curriculum development, mentoring residents, and completing administrative tasks as assigned. Additionally, the physician will ensure program compliance with hospital and regulatory agency policies through supervision of residents during clinical activities.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities of the Core Faculty include:

  1. Devote at least 24 hours per week (60% of time) or 1200 hours per year to instruction, administration, scholarly activity, and patient care within the Family Medicine Residency Program at Texoma Medical Center.
  1. Provide residents and medical students with opportunities to manage cases, guiding them in analysis and treatment, especially of obstetric patients.
  1. Ensure continuity of care through supervision and direct patient care at the residency clinic, maintaining a panel of patients independently of residency instruction.
  1. Participate in teaching the didactic curriculum, resident clinics, and conferences, ensuring evidence-based instruction that promotes resident competency.
  1. Assist the Program Director in curriculum development to meet educational needs.
  1. Engage in scholarly activities that satisfy ACGME requirements.
  1. Model professionalism, ethics, and high morals, demonstrating leadership and citizenship for residents.
  1. Complete and review resident evaluations promptly, assisting in resident graduation requirements verification.
  1. Attend program meetings and participate in other educational activities as requested.
  1. Participate in annual resident recruitment, including reviewing applications, interviewing, and assisting in ranking decisions.
  1. Report resident or student issues to the Program Director and assist in remediation when necessary.
  1. Follow ACGME and Medical Education Department policies, participating in disciplinary processes involving residents.
  1. Attend scheduled faculty development sessions as reasonably requested.

Ideal candidates will be Board certified or eligible, having completed an AOA or ACGME-accredited internship and residency, and will obtain privileges to admit patients, including obstetric cases. An active Texas medical license is highly preferred. Additional qualifications include obstetrics fellowship training or post-residency experience in prenatal care, delivery management, and postnatal care; skills in point-of-care ultrasound or medication-assisted treatment of opioid addiction.
