Qualifications

Essential Functions
  1. Assess patients' health status comprehensively or focus on immediate needs, including referrals for long-term management.
  2. Perform physical examinations, document health histories, and ensure clarity for patient needs.
  3. Consult with colleagues, specialists, and other health professionals as needed.
  4. Order diagnostic tests and procedures to support treatment recommendations.
  5. Collect specimens for blood, urine, stool analyses, and cultures.
  6. Interpret health information, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans for timely healthcare delivery.
  7. Educate patients about their health needs and further evaluation or treatment options.
  8. Supervise mid-level providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  9. Promote health education and disease prevention.
  10. Work effectively as part of a team to ensure timely, efficient care and excellent customer service.
  11. Attend safety training and adhere to safety protocols, including maintaining a safe work environment and participating in environmental audits.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor (MD) with current licensure.
  • Active DEA certification.
  • Participation in Medicare, Medicaid, workers' compensation, and other federal and state reimbursement programs, including commercial insurers and health plans.
  • Ability to meet Legacy Community Health's EPIC proficiency requirements.
