Job summary

Bay Area Community Health seeks a Family Practice Physician to join our outpatient team. You will deliver primary medical and educational care in a patient-centered environment, following clinic policies and with collaboration across departments. Oversight of clinical staff and operation of clinic floor will be part of the role.

The position emphasizes comprehensive health services, patient education, and coordination of referrals, tests, and follow-up care within a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited residency program.
• California Medical License.
• DEA Registration.
• Basic Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Board eligible or certified in Family Practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical examination and evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, minor procedures, follow-up and health education according to clinic policies.
• Identify disease prevention and health promotion needs and provide quality care.
• Educate patients and families about preventive care and prescribed treatments.
• Request referrals for specialty services, labs and tests as needed.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records compliant with state standards and policies.
• Develop and implement protocols to improve provision of comprehensive health services.
• Supervise and back up mid-level practitioners and nursing staff as needed.
• Provide back-up medical consultation and review charts for physicians assistants and nurse practitioners.

Education
