Job summary

Akicita Federal, LLC seeks an Outpatient Family Practice Provider to deliver comprehensive medical care in a full-time walk-in clinic at the IHS facility in Ogema, Minnesota. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of acute and chronic conditions in a collaborative environment with a two-provider team.

Responsibilities include histories, exams, tests, documentation in the EHR, and coordination with nursing, behavioral health and specialty services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified in medicine.
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education, preventive care and referrals as appropriate.
• Comply with IHS policies, federal regulations and clinical protocols.
• Maintain professional standards, cultural sensitivity and patient confidentiality.

Position Overview

The Outpatient Family Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive medical care in a full-time walk-in clinic setting at the IHS facility in Ogema, Minnesota. The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. The clinic operates with two providers seeing an average combined volume of 12 patients per day, ensuring a manageable workload and collaborative clinical environment.

This role supports IHS’s mission to raise the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indian and Alaska Native populations to the highest level.

Work Schedule & Patient Volume

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Clinic Type: Outpatient Walk-In

Average Patient Volume:

• -20–30 patients per day total
• -Shared between two providers

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

Education:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Licensure:

• Current, unrestricted license in any U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
• Board Certified

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in outpatient, primary care, or urgent/walk-in care settings preferred
• Experience in rural, tribal, or underserved communities strongly preferred

Certifications:

• Current BLS (required)
• ACLS (preferred)
• DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)

$180 - $190 an hour
