Ready to have your nights and weekends back to yourself? You'll work Monday through Friday, supporting only our enrolled participants.

The Center Medical Director provides medical care for InnovAge PACE enrolled participants across various settings, including but not limited to the center's clinic, participants' homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and personal care boarding homes. Direct hospital inpatient care is not required; however, close coordination with hospital-based providers is essential. The Center Medical Director also oversees day-to-day medical operations at the center and supervises physicians and adult nurse practitioners. They assist with departmental budgeting, quality initiatives, and resource management. Physical presence at an InnovAge facility or participant's home is essential for job performance.

Primary Care - 65%
  1. Provide medical care to enrolled participants, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of medical conditions, taking medical histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assessing conditions, creating treatment plans, prescribing medications, and following up on care.
  2. Document medical care accurately in the participant's medical record, complying with policies. May involve establishing electronic medical records and providing input for EMR enhancements.
  3. On a rotational basis, provide after-hours on-call coverage every few weeks. Calls are triaged by an RN, with a subset requiring direct physician contact.
  4. Participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop and review care plans for participants.
  5. Contribute to the development and initiation of new medical programs and processes aligned with strategic goals.
Administrative & Supervision - 35%
  1. Assist in preparing the primary care budget and explain monthly variances.
  2. Report on utilization metrics across inpatient, ER, outpatient, nursing home, and pharmacy services, especially where significant budget variances occur.
  3. Engage in quality improvement initiatives with the Quality Department.
  4. Address primary care-related grievances at the center.
  5. Lead at least one primary care strategic initiative.
  6. Coordinate regular primary care team meetings at the center and lead local meetings when asked.
  7. Recruit, hire, and terminate primary care staff in consultation with the Area Medical Director.
  8. Supervise and motivate staff, fostering a positive organizational culture.
  9. Conduct regular leadership and staff meetings to promote communication, development, and coordination of goals.
