Job summary

Neighborhood Health Center in Milwaukie, OR is seeking an experienced Family Physician to provide comprehensive primary medical care with emphasis on prevention and patient-centered care.

You will work on-site at the Milwaukie Clinic, overseeing diagnostics, labs, and coordination with specialists to serve underserved populations and improve quality of care. MD or DO license in Oregon required; 40-hour work week; HRSA loan repayment options available.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (MD/DO) or equivalent from an accredited school of medicine is required.
• Completion of Family Practice Residency with at least two years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Experience working with underserved populations in a community health center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patients with medical assessments and treatments pertaining to physical and mental health.
• Orders and interprets medical labs and diagnostic imaging for patients.
• Refers patients to appropriate specialists as needed.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals and treatments for assessed medical conditions.
• Performs minor procedures as qualified.
• Provides accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records following Neighborhood Health Center coding standards.
• Displays sensitivity to the populations served.
• Contributes professional medical expertise to other medical and mental health professionals and clinical support staff.
• Provides oversight of support staff with respect to individual patient management.
• Participates in team huddles to review the schedule at the start of the clinic day.
• Participates in process and quality improvement workflows.
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
• Maintains availability during scheduled on‑call hours.
• Attends required meetings and in‑services, and participates in committees as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
