Job Responsibilities
  1. Greets patients, family, visitors, donors, and volunteers upon arrival. Conducts guest check-ins, gives directions, processes payments, and provides available resources and tours of the facility.
  2. Maintains record-keeping functions to ensure the database and visitor information are current.
  3. Recognizes signs of distress or personal trauma and provides support, referring to appropriate departments as needed.
  4. Serves as a resource for volunteers and healthcare providers.
  5. Contacts community resources and provides information about the hospital and surrounding areas.
  6. Coordinates overnight stays and accommodations for waitlisted families.
  7. Notes important occurrences and reports issues to management.
  8. Ensures a pleasant environment by reporting maintenance needs and restocking supplies.
  9. Assists with food preparation, household chores, and maintains safety of designated areas.
  10. Supports patient satisfaction and maintains confidentiality at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Department-specific certifications: for hires before 2/27/2020, Basic Life Support and Naloxone training by 7/31/2020; for hires after 2/27/2020, BLS within 30 days and Naloxone within 3 months of hire, considering pandemic-related testing center closures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 18 months experience in customer service.
  • Experience with recordkeeping and data entry.
  • 12 months office experience with computer skills.
Physical and Work Environment

Must be able to push/pull over 50 lbs, and perform frequent walking, standing, and other physical activities. Work environment includes typical healthcare settings, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.

Additional Information

Benefit-eligible employees working at least 0.5 FTE are eligible for various benefits. Wage scale ranges from $15.68 to $23.51/hour, with shift differentials and overtime pay applicable. Scheduled weekly hours are 40. The position is non-exempt under U.S. labor law. The employer is an equal opportunity organization.
