About Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care

With 20 locations in Tennessee, Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is an affiliate of Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. The centers provide a range of healthcare services including treatments for injuries and illnesses, occupational health, and wellness care. They operate seven days a week with extended hours and are accredited by the Urgent Care Association, reflecting a commitment to safety and quality.

Job Summary

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide exceptional medical care to patients of all ages with various medical conditions. You will work collaboratively with a healthcare team, diagnosing, treating, and educating patients, ensuring high standards of care. Full-time providers typically work a rotating 36-40 hour week, including 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide exemplary customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  2. Deliver convenient, friendly patient care for health-related needs.
  3. Lead and assist during emergencies, maintaining a reassuring presence for patients.
  4. Work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with long and variable hours.
  5. Perform medical assessments, treatments, management, and follow-up for clinic patients, including primary care, urgent care, occupational health, DOT physicals, and workers' compensation.
  6. Perform medical procedures such as laceration repairs, nail removal, pap tests, injections, splinting, and abscess drainage.
  7. Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients.
  8. Oversee laboratory, x-rays, injections, and collections for direct access services, if applicable.
  9. Maintain clinical competencies and ensure compliance with medical standards.
  10. Collaborate with leadership and staff to align operations with policies and standards.
  11. Participate in policy development, quality improvement, and continuing education programs.
  12. Support growth and development of services within the center.
  13. Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation standards.
  14. Represent the clinic at meetings and events as required.
  15. Guide and support other medical staff to ensure quality and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Experience as a provider is preferred; new graduates are welcome.
  • State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant.
  • Certification as an APRN through AANP or ANCC.
  • DEA license or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • DOT certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • BLS certification.
