American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Care in Temple, TX seeks a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to evaluate and treat non-life threatening illnesses. You will deliver compassionate care, work closely with the clinic team, and contribute to a positive patient experience.

The role requires current PA/NP licensure, board certification, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting; opportunities for advancement and ongoing training are available.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with patients, staff and families.

• Current licensure as PA or NP with DEA and state-controlled substance certification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans for patients in urgent care.
• Evaluate acute illnesses and injuries and prescribe medications as required.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests; refer when needed.
• Perform minor procedures within scope of practice.
• Explain diagnosis, treatment instructions, and follow up plans to patients and sign charts daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

AFC Urgent Care in Temple is seeking a FNP /PA to evaluate and treat patients with non-life threating illnesses and injuries. The provider will deliver compassionate care with positive experience to all patients and work closely with the clinic team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans for patients within an urgent care setting
• Evaluate patients with acute illnesses and injuries and prescribe appropriate medications as required
• Order, interpret and follow up on diagnostic tests as well as provide referrals to the appropriate health care facilities
• Perform minor procedures when required within the scope of the practice
• Explain diagnosis, treatment instructions, warning signs and follow up plans to patientsComplete and sign-off patient charts on a daily basis
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent communicator with staff, patients, and family
• Professional appearance and attitude
• ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA Board Certified - (with 1 yr ER/UC experience preferred)
• Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice, DEA number, and state-controlled substance certificate, as required
• Able to multi-task and work independently
