U.S. Army Family Nurse Practitioners provide high-quality primary care to Soldiers, retirees, and their families, conducting physicals, tests, and referrals.

As licensed independent providers, they may lead integrated teams, engage in research, and pursue leadership and advanced education opportunities, both Active Duty and Army Reserve.

Qualifications

• Must hold MSN or DNP with Family Nurse Practitioner specialization.
• Must possess an active RN license as required by the state.
• Must have national FNP certification.
• Must be a U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty or permanent resident for Reserve duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and diagnostic testing.
• Provide high quality primary care to Soldiers, retirees, and families.
• Refer patients and coordinate care with healthcare teams.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have a Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice with specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
• Must possess a current, active, valid and unrestricted license as a RN and/or RN as required by the state issuing the license
• Must possess a national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
• Must be a U.S. citizen to serve Active Duty
• Must have a permanent U.S. residency for Army Reserve
