Job summary

Proactive MD is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive primary care at our Midland, TX employer-sponsored health center. You’ll spend ample time with patients, focusing on long-term outcomes and relationships rather than volume.

You will provide adult and pediatric care, preventive and chronic disease management, and coordinate care with an onsite clinical team in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family practice or primary care.
• Current RN license.
• Current NP license in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Prescriptive authority under state/federal laws.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR); athenahealth used by Proactive MD.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric patients in an employer-sponsored health center.
• Perform preventive, acute, and chronic care visits.
• Conduct physical examinations, health assessments, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with patients.
• Provide health education, preventive care, and wellness counseling.
• Order and interpret lab and diagnostic testing.
• Prescribe medications per regulations.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Document encounters in the EMR.
• Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and quality standards.

Join Proactive MD as a Family Nurse Practitioner

Proactive MD is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide comprehensive primary care at our employer-sponsored health center in Midland, TX. Position hours:
Monday: 7-4, T: 7-7, W: 8-4, Th: 8-6, F:7-1 (1 hour lunch break) (40hrs/week).
New Clinic Scheduled to open January 4, 2027. Clinic Address: 37 N. Big Spring Street, Midland, TX 79701.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric (2+) patients in an employer-sponsored health center.
• Perform preventive, acute, and chronic care visits.
• Conduct physical examinations, health assessments, and comprehensive medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients.
• Provide health education, preventive care, and wellness counseling.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare resources when appropriate.
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with patients.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical quality standards.
• Collaborate with the onsite clinical team to provide coordinated, high-quality care.
• Support clinic workflows and contribute to an efficient, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

Required

• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family practice or primary care.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• Appropriate prescriptive authority under applicable state and federal laws.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMR); Proactive MD uses athenahealth.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with internet, spreadsheet, and word-processing software.
• Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving, and workflow-management skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred

• Experience providing comprehensive primary care in an employer-sponsored, occupational health, or workplace health setting.
• Experience managing both acute and chronic conditions in an outpatient primary care environment.
• Interest in preventive medicine, population health, and patient engagement.
