Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago invites a compassionate Family Ministry coordinator to support programs that help families encounter Christ and build lasting community at Old St. Patrick's Church.

You will work with our Director of Family Ministry to organize programs, coordinate volunteers, and manage materials so families feel welcomed and engaged. You will coordinate Religious Education for Grades K-8, organize sacramental preparation, recruit catechists, and ensure Safe Environment compliance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
• Experience in parish religious education or catechetical ministry.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and independent work style.
• Compliance with Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the parish Religious Education program for Grades K-8.
• Organize sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists.
• Maintain enrollment records and coordinate registrations.
• Coordinate sacramental retreats and family faith formation events.
• Collaborate with school and church staff; communicate with families.
