Job description

Job Title: Family Ministries Director

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection seeks energetic, spirit-filled candidates for a full-time Family Ministries Director position. The role involves overseeing children's and student ministries, providing spiritual and visionary leadership to children, students, families, and volunteers.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading and teaching vibrant Student Ministries weekly.
2. Recruiting, training, and developing volunteer teams for children and youth programs.
3. Mentoring teens in a strong Christian lifestyle.
4. Attending weekly staff and ministry meetings.
5. Overseeing confirmation classes and processes.
6. Strategic planning to maximize ministry impact.
7. Maintaining accurate records and schedules.
8. Managing children's and student ministries' programming, including weekends, midweek, and special events.
9. Administering program budgets.
10. Overseeing family ministries for children, teens, and parents.
11. Incorporating intergenerational approaches to involve families and children in church life.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in relational ministry with children, teens, and families.
• Ability to teach effectively to youth and children.
• Recognition of gifts for working with youth and children in ministry.
• Understanding of current culture and ability to communicate the Gospel within it.
• Strong character, good judgment, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
• Leadership and teaching spiritual gifts.
• Ability to recruit, equip, and empower volunteers.
• Love for people, especially kids, students, and families.
• Energetic, magnetic leadership that inspires students and parents.
• Desire to grow and support the church's mission.

Education and Experience:

• College degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of Lutheran theology.
• 2-3 years’ experience in children, youth, or family ministries.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Experience:

• Teaching confirmation.
