Tenet Healthcare's Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace Hospital/MSU-COM invites an MD or DO to join a dedicated Family Medicine Residency Program as Core Faculty. You will mentor residents, lead clinical teaching, and participate in curriculum development within the DMC health system.

This academic appointment offers protected teaching time, competitive compensation, CME allowance, malpractice coverage, relocation support, and a collaborative, service-oriented environment in Detroit.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree; board-certified in Family Medicine.
• Michigan medical license or eligibility.
• DEA certificate.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• 3–5 years of Family Medicine clinical experience.
• Outpatient faculty experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient clinical care within the DMC health system.
• Precept and supervise residents one day per week.
• Mentor residents in recruitment, journal clubs, and research.
• Participate in curriculum development and didactics.
• Collaborate with faculty across the health system.

This academic position combines clinical practice, resident education, mentorship, and program leadership within a nationally recognized health system. You will work alongside dedicated faculty and residents in a collaborative environment that emphasizes high-quality patient care and scholarly achievement. With protected time for teaching, administration, and curriculum development, this role offers a rewarding balance of academic and clinical responsibilities.

Position Highlights

• Full-time Core Faculty position within an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
• Practice location includes Grand River Health Center and the Detroit Medical Center system
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• No weekend requirements
• Shared practice call
• One day per week dedicated to resident precepting and clinical supervision
• One day per week dedicated to maintaining your own clinical practice and patient panel
• Half day per week focused on didactics, lectures, and curriculum development
• Approximately 2.5 days per week allocated to administrative responsibilities
• Outpatient-focused clinical and teaching environment
• Serve as a resident advisor, mentor, and role model
• Participate in resident recruitment, journal clubs, and scholarly activities
• Mentor resident research and senior projects
• All rotations occur within the DMC health system

Candidate Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• DEA certificate
• Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine
• Maintain CME requirements
• Michigan medical license or eligibility for licensure in Michigan
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire
• Knowledge of preventive medicine principles and practices
• Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and community health centers
• 3 to 5 years of Family Medicine clinical experience
• Outpatient medical faculty experience preferred
