Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center's Department of Family Medicine seeks a physician to provide compassionate clinical care across a broad range of family medicine conditions, with options to focus on inpatient hospital medicine, outpatient care, or sports medicine.

Rank and salary depend on qualifications and experience. This appointment invites candidates who are pursuing ABFM board certification or are already certified, with USMLE Step 3 completed.

Qualifikationen

• Must hold or be eligible for ABFM board certification (including in training to become eligible).
• Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.

Aufgaben

• Participates in the training and education of residents and medical students.
• Assesses patients by obtaining and reviewing health histories, assessing presenting illness and performing an appropriate physical examination.
• Orders laboratory, diagnostic and screening tests.
• Develops and implements treatment plans including medications.
• Educates patients on wellness, illness prevention and disease management.
• Instructs patients and families regarding medications and treatments.
• Coordinates care with subspecialists.
• Prepares and completes timely and accurate documentation for medical records.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members.
• Participates in quality improvement, continuing education and patient care programs established by the department, clinic and/or hospital.
