JOB SUMMARY

Physicians provide comprehensive care for the appropriate patient population, including diagnosing and treating a wide variety of illnesses across body systems. They utilize various diagnostic and therapeutic techniques through medication and hospitalization. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and providing healthcare services aligned with St. Luke’s mission, 'The Patient Above All Else.' Physicians prescribe appropriate procedures, medications, health regimens, and lifestyle adjustments to aid recovery, prevent future health issues, and promote healthier lives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Experience: Completion of an accredited residency program.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current or pending license in Minnesota and/or WI; DEA and DPS registration for prescription writing; Board eligible or certified in the appropriate specialty.

  • Knowledge of current physician practice principles and techniques. Ability to function as a team leader, primary provider, and role model. Effective communication with patients, families, personnel, and other physicians. Recognizing legal practice limits; maintaining professional competency through ongoing education. Supporting St. Luke’s goals and objectives.
  • Reading: Advanced - ability to analyze complex documents and respond to sensitive inquiries.
  • Writing: Intermediate - ability to produce routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.
  • Speaking: Intermediate - effective presentation skills in various settings.
  • Mathematical Skills: Advanced - applying complex mathematical concepts and practical calculations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Advanced - problem-solving, data collection, and interpretation skills in varied situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
  • Physical Demands: Includes standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, bending, talking, and hearing, with varying durations.
  • Lifting Requirements: Up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally.
