Role Purpose

The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing specialty through direct patient care and perform related duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations, inbasket management, patient education, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage the medical care of the patient panel, including inpatient hospital care arrangements, hospital rounds, or coordination with hospitalists, in accordance with Medical Staff requirements
• Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic and outreach locations
• Perform and document medical histories and physicals as required by hospital bylaws
• Provide or arrange call coverage for clinic and inpatient care, following BJC policies and professional standards
• Collaborate and teach advanced practice providers and support staff involved in patient care
• This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety is essential
