Department Overview

Cascades East is located in Klamath Falls, Oregon, providing an incredible rural medicine experience. The clinic is a certified Patient Centered Primary Care Medical Home, with an emphasis on team-based care and innovation. Sky Lakes Medical Center, the hospital at which the Cascades East Family Medicine Center is based, is the only hospital for the Klamath Basin. The combination of a strong medical community and populations with significant health care needs makes Klamath Falls a unique setting to practice primary care. Providers work within a collaborative interprofessional team to practice the full scope of family medicine, often caring for entire families from newborns all the way to grandparents. Family Medicine strongly supports the comprehensive scope to provide the highest level of care for our community. The clinical work includes all ages of life including newborn to end of life, taking care of pregnant patients, and supporting patients with substance use disorder including medication-assisted treatment and gender affirming care. Function/Duties of Position

The appointee will function as a clinician at Cascades East Family Medicine Center and will have privileges at this Sky Lakes Medical Center. Academically, the applicant will have a primary appointment in Family Medicine. The appointee will practice clinical medicine at this site and other approved sites when appropriate.

Key Duties

• Collaborate with full- and part-time faculty to maintain an active practice.
• See patients in clinic for eight half days per week and have two half days available for administrative duties.
• Expectations for number of patients seen per half day will be commensurate with other faculty, minimum target 8-10 visits per half day depending on complexity.
• Document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Cascade East Family Medicine Center and Sky Lakes Medical Center policies.
• Participate in seeing patients during expanded access hours in the clinic, including shared evenings, weekends, and call coverage. Commit to developing the practice into a vibrant clinical and academic operation, successful from both a professional and business perspective.
• Be available for teaching activities.

Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience, including a base academic salary and a clinical salary. By mutual agreement, the position may include inpatient care with call duties shared with the faculty inpatient call group.

Required Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (Licensed in Oregon).
• M.D./D.O. degree and graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency.
• Capable of providing comprehensive health services.
• Certified to prescribe.
