Family Medicine Physician - Academics Job with UPMC in Washington, PA

Join us at UPMC Washington, a top-rated regional hospital in southwestern Pennsylvania, approximately 25 miles south of Pittsburgh. Established in 1971, our institution offers a Family Medicine Residency Program with a longstanding reputation for training well-prepared family physicians. Our program features strong specialist support and a community hospital environment with nearly all service lines found in large academic institutions.

We are seeking a Board-certified Family Medicine physician to join our faculty as a Core Faculty member. The role includes providing comprehensive Family Medicine care—outpatient (pediatrics, geriatrics, women’s health) and inpatient rounding at UPMC Washington Hospital. The ideal candidate will have broad clinical skills and a passion for teaching residents and medical students. Responsibilities include direct patient care, teaching, mentoring, faculty collaboration, and didactic instruction.

Our practice locations in Canonsburg, Cecil, and Washington are staffed by dedicated physicians and residents committed to high-quality care. We also collaborate with a psychiatrist and social worker to offer multidisciplinary services.

Position details:

• Family Medicine or Med-Peds MD or DO (Board-Certified or Board-Eligible). No OB required.
• Full-time, permanent, hospital-employed position.
• Call: approximately 3 times/month (phone only), weekends every 6-8 weeks with rounding.
• Competitive salary and benefits, including CME allowance and affiliations with medical schools.
• Full malpractice coverage with tail.
• Program covers professional memberships (AAFP, PAFP, etc.) and licensing fees (DEA, etc.).
