Job description

The Family Practice Physician will be responsible for providing complete clinical care for all patients under the direction of the Medical Director and according to written protocols. The Family Practice Physician will work in conjunction with the Medical Director to implement and maintain quality care programs.

Family Practitioner - Diagnose, treat, and provide preventive care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Examine patients; take medical histories; prescribe medications; and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.

General job duties include:

• Document and update charts and patient information to show findings and treatments
• Order tests and consultations for other physicians or healthcare staff to perform
• Review test results to identify abnormal findings
• Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care in triage situations
• Provide case management with other health care team members
• Recommend, design, and implementa long-term treatment plan
• Address concerns or answer questions that patients have about their health and well-being
• Help patients take care of their health by discussing topics such as proper nutrition and hygiene
• Management of services in accordance with established Clinic’s policies/procedures and contracted service under CHDP, Managed Medical Care and other medical programs and guidelines

Required Education/Experience and or Licensure/Certifications

• Working knowledge of e-scripts
• Active California Medical License (M.D. or D.O.)
• Current BLS Certification
• CPR Card (Adult, Child and Infant)
• Medi-Care & Medi-Cal Provider

Salary range

$260,000 - $330,000 USD
