Position Summary

The Family Practice Physician provides patient care duties consistent with the current standards of practice in their area of specialty. Opportunity to provide leadership and exercise career advancement is available.

Position-specific Competencies/Essential Functions/Duties & Responsibilities

• Shares in the provision of patient care. The physician provides diagnostic and treatment services to clinic patients according to local, state and federal standards of care.
• Accurately chart and document patients visits using the Electronic Medical Records in a timely manner.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical and operational processes.
• Evaluate the patient’s total health needs, provide personal medical care within their competency, and refer patients to appropriate sources of care while maintaining continuity.
• Provide clinical services in preventive medicine, episodic and serious diseases, chronic conditions, counseling, EKG, physical treatments, accident care, medication management, etc.
• Counsel patients about health and illness, discuss preventative health measures, and make referrals as needed.
• Share night, evening, and weekend coverage under the direction of the Medical Director.
• Attend internal meetings as necessary.

Position Requirements

• Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school; licensed in Nebraska; board certified or eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine.
• License: Valid medical license in Nebraska.
• Experience: Preferably five years of clinical and management experience.
• Expertise: Strong interpersonal, verbal, written skills; knowledge of medical supplies and equipment; proficient in PC use; problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to supervise staff; capable of data gathering, reporting, and policy writing.
• Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
• Exposure: Minimal exposure to hazards; PPE provided; safety protocols in place.
• Physical: Accommodations can be made for individuals with challenges.
