Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking a Family Medicine Physician to fill an opening with a health center located in Long Island City, New York.
Schedule
- This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities of the Family Medicine Physician
- Provide medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
- Take relevant patient history.
- Identify patient needs and make diagnoses.
- Perform complete well-care examinations, including physicals.
- Perform gynecological histories and physical examinations as indicated.
- Write prescriptions and inform patients about medications prescribed.
- Complete medical forms and documentation related to patient care.
- Answer patient telephone inquiries as needed.
- Make referrals to other providers and agencies, with follow-up care.
- Assist with immunizations and phlebotomy to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Encourage health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Provide health education on topics including preventative medicine, chronic disease management, parenting, prenatal care, nutrition, family planning, medication usage, and stress management.
- Provide patient advocacy as appropriate.
- Work in a supervisory role with mid-level providers and collaborate with specialists for consultation and referral.
- Participate in peer review processes.
- Teach Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Maintain responsibility for directing patient medical treatment.
- Participate in case conferences and case management activities.
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Engage in quality improvement activities and develop medical protocols with the Clinical Guidelines Committee.
- Collaborate with Benefits Counselors and Outreach staff for patient scheduling and flow.
- Work with the HIM supervisor to ensure proper documentation procedures.
- Observe and promote compliance with federal regulations including HIPAA.
- Utilize EMR systems for various actions including demographics, appointments, orders, labs, and documentation.
- Perform duties in the clinic environment, which observes a no-smoking policy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
- New York State Medical License.
- New York State Medical Board Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- OB/GYN experience is a plus but not required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary of $210,000 per year.
- Productivity bonus approximately $120,000 per year (about $50 per patient after the first 15 patients; average daily patient load is 25).
