Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, 36‑hour week in the Porter Family Medicine Clinic. Under the supervision of a clinician, you will assist with patient visits, gather information relevant to the visit, and facilitate clear communication with patients by phone and in person.

Preferred candidates have Family Medicine clinical experience, a current BLS certification, EMR familiarity, and a patient‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1 year MA work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in Utah.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

Responsibilities

• Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information related to visit and condition.
• Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care.
