Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a Family Meal Room Attendant to maintain clean kitchen spaces and operate equipment safely. The role includes setting up meals, sanitizing surfaces, and assisting with banquet and front-of-house tasks as needed.

• Load/unload deliveries and distribute supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining areas and equipment, following safety rules.
• Report malfunctions or safety concerns to management.
• Support special events and catering as required.

Family Meal Room Attendant

Summary

Perform job duties required to maintain kitchen work areas, kitchen equipment in clean and orderly condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
• Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks and all other food prep surfaces as assigned.
• Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
• Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other food preparation machines and equipment.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas observing all safe lifting standards.
• Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up as requested.
• Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and product.
• Distributes supplies, utensils and portable equipment as needed.
• Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Family Meal Room Attendant Responsibilities

• Set up and break down the employee family meal service area.
• Ensure food is displayed attractively and maintained at appropriate temperatures.
• Replenish food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies throughout meal service.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, serving stations, and dining areas.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, serving utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of dining room supplies and notify management of shortages.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and service-oriented attitude toward all employees.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, or safety concerns to management.
• Support special employee events and catering functions as assigned.
