Job summary

Modern Family Law invites 3Ls and recent graduates taking the February 2027 Bar to join the MFL Academy's Residency Program in Oakland or San Jose. The role is hybrid, and participants will train in substantive family law and courtroom advocacy before transitioning to an Associate Attorney position after passing the Bar.

Residency offers mentorship from the Learning & Development team, exposure to direct client matters, and a clear path to partnership.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Register for the upcoming February 2027 Bar exam.
• Attain a passing score on the MPRE before sitting for the Bar.
• Timely submission and approval of Character & Fitness application.

Responsibilities

• Receive training in family law and courtroom advocacy.
• Develop litigation skills and client handling during Residency.
• Transition to an Associate Attorney role upon Bar approval.
