Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group seeks an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys in domestic relations matters. You will draft petitions and pleadings, manage case deadlines, and handle discovery and financial documents for filing and review.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in family law, strong drafting and proofreading skills, excellent organization, and proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel. A Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of family law paralegal experience; five+ preferred.
• Strong drafting and proofreading skills for petitions, motions, and pleadings.
• Experience organizing discovery and reviewing financial documents.
• Excellent organization, time-management, and communication with discretion and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Manage case deadlines, monitor court dockets, and handle e-filing and service of process.
• Prepare and organize discovery, financial statements, mandatory disclosures, property distribution worksheets, and child support calculations.
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and witness materials for hearings, mediations, and trials, while keeping clients and attorneys informed of case status, deadlines, and next steps.

Job description

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys across all phases of domestic relations matters. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and dependable, able to manage cases independently while providing compassionate, professional service to clients during challenging times.

Key Duties

• Assist attorneys with family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, maintenance, adoption, and guardianship; draft petitions, motions, and pleadings for attorney review.
• Manage case deadlines, monitor court dockets, and handle e-filing and service of process.
• Prepare and organize discovery, financial statements, mandatory disclosures, property distribution worksheets, and child support calculations.
• Prepare exhibits, trial binders, and witness materials for hearings, mediations, and trials, while keeping clients and attorneys informed of case status, deadlines, and next steps.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of family law paralegal experience (five or more preferred); degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong legal drafting and proofreading skills, with experience organizing discovery and reviewing financial documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, plus familiarity with electronic court filing and case and document management systems; state family court experience is a plus.
• Excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills, with sound judgment, discretion, empathy, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
