Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is seeking part-time instructors for Oxnard College to teach courses related to Family Law. The initial focus will be Family Law with background in Law, Procedure, and Legal Writing highly desired.

Under the dean's direction, instructors provide comprehensive classroom instruction to diverse students. Applications are kept on file for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters and may be considered if vacancies arise.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.B. degree required.
Any bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience.
Any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
Equivalency may be considered as described in the policy.
Possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom instruction to students in Law, including Family Law, procedures, and related topics.
Advise students on programs of study and available resources.
Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
Plan and organize instruction aligned with course outlines and outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of enrollment and progress; submit reports as needed.
Evaluate and select instructional materials and update syllabi and content.
Participate in curriculum development and department meetings.
May participate in articulation and matriculation activities.
Perform related duties as assigned.
