Job summary

Confidential Employer in Morehead City, NC seeks an attorney to lead family law matters including divorce, custody, alimony, and property distribution. You will counsel clients through sensitive financial and personal situations and develop thoughtful case strategies tailored to each client's priorities and goals.

Draft pleadings and other documents, prepare for hearings and negotiations, and maintain organized case files.

Qualifications

  • Active North Carolina Bar license required.
  • Family law experience strongly preferred.
  • Entry-level attorneys with strong academic, communication, and advocacy skills may be considered.
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and client counseling abilities.
  • Ability to manage cases and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Professional, compassionate communication style when working with clients facing sensitive circumstances.
  • Courtroom or litigation experience is a plus.

  • Develop thoughtful case strategies based on each client's circumstances, priorities, and goals.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare thoroughly for hearings, negotiations, mediations, and courtroom proceedings.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties throughout each matter.
  • Negotiate resolutions while remaining prepared to advocate effectively in court when necessary.
  • Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality legal service.

$60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
