Job summary

Orion Placement, a client-centered Hawaii law firm, seeks an attorney to independently manage family law cases from intake to resolution. You will represent clients in court hearings, negotiations, and other proceedings, draft pleadings, and develop effective case strategies.

This role offers significant caseload ownership, opportunities to expand into civil litigation and employment law, and flexible in-office or remote arrangements within Hawaii with periodic in-person appearances.

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii Bar admission and authorization to practice law in Hawaii.
• 1+ years of family law attorney experience preferred.
• Experience drafting legal documents and handling litigation matters.
• Ability to represent clients independently in court.
• Civil litigation or employment law experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage family law cases from initial client consultation through resolution.
• Represent clients in court hearings, negotiations, and other legal proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
• Provide practical, compassionate legal advice to clients navigating sensitive legal matters.
• Handle civil litigation and employment law matters based on experience and interests.
• Collaborate with legal staff to ensure cases progress efficiently and clients receive excellent service.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Location

Hilo, HI | Open to attorneys residing anywhere in Hawaii. In-person court appearances are required approximately every 1 to 2 months. Specific remote, hybrid, or in-office arrangements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Applicants must be licensed to practice law in Hawaii, reside in the state, have hands-on family law experience, and be comfortable independently handling cases and court appearances.
